Softball Improves to 4-0

An outstanding effort by Dustie Durham led the Roughrider Softball to an 8-7 win in eight innings over Western Nevada College on Saturday morning.
Durham blasted two home runs for YC. Durham went 2-3 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Durham homered in the first and second innings.
The Green and Gold hit three home runs in the win. Home runs for Yavapai came when Durham homered in the first and second innings and Andrea Sotelo homered in the fourth inning.

Amy Robinson recorded the win for the Riders. She allowed two runs over 3 2/3 innings. She struck out three, walked one and surrendered three hits.
In the bottom of the first, Yavapai grabbed the early lead, 5-0. After Jocilyn Ellis singled, Durham homered, plating Ellis and Andrea Sotelo. The scoreboard lit up again for YC when Forray and Pena scored on a two-run single by Nicole Matta.
Western Nevada pushed across one run in both the second inning and the fourth. In the second, Western Nevada College scored on a solo home run by Talia.

Yavapai quickly matched Western Nevada College’s strong inning with a one-run inning of its own in the second. YC scored on a solo home run by Durham.
