Iva completed the season #2 in the country in kills per set with 4.66 which was 1.5 kills per set more than any other player in the ACCAC. Iva’s totals for the year included 424 kills, a hitting percentage of .192, 218 digs, 37 total blocks, and 14 service aces. Yavapai head coach Zach Shaver said “In my opinion Iva’s most impressive statistic of the 2015 season is that she led the team or was tied for the most kills in all 26 matches in which she played. She was a leader on the court in many aspects and led our team to a record setting season.” Alebic also finished with a double / double in 9 matches in 2015.
Iva’s most dominant performance came in 5 set comeback win over Arizona Western on October 24th. After dropping the first 2 sets to the Lady Matadors, Iva led the Roughriders to 3 straight set wins to clinch the victory. In the end Iva totaled 29 kills on 69 swings with only 9 errors producing a hitting percentage of .290. Her 29 kills were 51% of the team’s total that afternoon. She also contributed 12 digs and 4 blocks in the match.
Iva book ended the 2015 season with individual awards. In August she was named to the All-Tournament team at the New Mexico Military Institute Classic. Then in November after leading the Roughriders to their first ever Region 1 / District C Championship Alebic was named the Region 1 Most Valuable Player. Iva is from Obermaiselstein, Germany and is a majoring in Psychology.
