Roughriders Sign Parker HS Standout

Jailynn signing 1On Thursday just before her #1 ranked Parker High School started their quest for an Arizona DIII State Championship standout senior Jailynn Butler signed her National Letter Intent committing to Yavapai College. Butler is a 5’7″ outside hitter from Parker, AZ who also plays for Colorado River Volleyball Club.

During her four years as a Bronc she has achieved numerous athletic and academic accolades. During her freshman year Jailynn won the JV Volleyball Bronc Award, Golf Sunshine Award, and was on Honor Roll both terms. In her sophomore campaign she added Varsity basketball Most Improved Player, WAVE Outstanding Work award, and was again on Honor Roll both terms. Her accoladesJailynn-2 exploded during her junior year including several All-Tournament Team selections, Scholar Athlete Activity Award, Volleyball Division 4 All Division and All Section 1st team, and was on the Principal’s Honor Roll both terms. During her final year at Parker HS she became a National Honor Society Member, was selected to 3 All-Tournament teams, and was the American Volleyball Coaches Association National Player of the Week for October 5th – 11th .

Head Coach Zach Shaver said “Jailynn is a memembr of a shrinking group of outside hitter in today’s volleyball world. She is a dynamic attacker that also possesses wonderful ball control skills. We knew right away when watching her playing with CRVC that she was a complete and well rounded player. Jailynn’s fundamental volleyball skills are a tribute to the training she has received from her coaches Marie and Daniel Maya. We expect her to compete for court time in our strong group of outside hitters in 2016.”

Jailynn joins fellow signers Lauren Ulibarri from Flagstaff, AZ and Baylie Stephens from Oro Valley, AZ as the 3rd member of Yavapai’s 2016 incoming freshmen class.
