Roughriders Score 7 Goals in Road Victory

Yavapai College defeated South Mountain Community College, 7-2, on a hot Saturday afternoon in Phoenix, to improve their league leading record to 12-1-1 and 14-1-1 overall. South Mountain falls to 1-13-0. Reece Weldon and Kalvin Parr each recorded a hat trick; Weldon had 3 goals and Parr had 3 assists.

All three YC goalkeepers shared time in goal this afternoon. It was Yavapai’s 450th win all-time over an Arizona opponent and 27th consecutive win on the South Mountain campus.

On Tuesday, October 6th the Roughriders play at Phoenix College. The Bears handed the Roughriders their only lost of the season last month, 4-3 in overtime. Tuesday’s match will begin at 7:00 PM. On Thursday, October 8th YC will play host to Arizona Western College. The Roughriders beat the Matadors on the road, in overtime, in their first encounter on the year. Thursday match will be played at Ken Lindley Field in Prescott and will begin at 6:00 PM.
