Volleyball Drops First ACCAC Match of the Season

On Friday night in Glendale the only 2 undefeated team in the ACCAC came together for a battle. The Gauchos came away with the 3-1 win over the Roughriders. The scores were 25-23, 15-25, 17-25, 23-25.

Yavapai’s uncharacteristically low hitting percentage of .155 was too low to come away with the win. Glendale hit a superior .271. Yavapai could only muster 37 kills compared to Glendale’s 54. Offensively Yavapai’s sophomore outside hitter Kelsey Park was a bright spot hitting .333 with 12 kills and only 2 errors on 30 total attempts.

From the service line the Roughriders struggled with 0 aces and a dozen service errors. The 40 digs collected by the Roughriders were not enough to keep the Gauchos from scoring 66 points.

Yavapai will take their 6-1 ACCAC record on the road to challenge Eastern Arizona College on Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
