Roughriders Dominate the 2nd Half to Earn a Victory Over Mesa

The Yavapai College Roughrider soccer team scored four unanswered goals in the second half in a 4-0 victory over Mesa Community College Thursday night in Mesa. The win is the 49th all-time against the Thunderbirds. Yavapai is now 8-1-1 overall and 6-1-1 in the ACCAC standings. Mesa falls to 4-4-0 on the year.

64th minute – Miles McRae assisted by Jason Lazarevski (200th goal all-time against Mesa)
70th minute – Memo Diaz assisted by Jason Lazarevski
75th minute – Kwesi Caesar unassisted
83rd minute – Justin Stinson assisted by Darragh Boyle

Greg Patenaude played all 90 minutes in goal to record his 5th shutout of the season.

Due to the rescheduled rainout match earlier in the season, these same two teams will face each other in 12 days at the Amphitheater in Prescott Valley.

Yavapai will play four of their next five matches at home beginning on Saturday in Prescott Valley against Glendale Community College. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
