Roughriders Sweep Matadors in 3 Sets

Yavapai volleyball followed the lead of their soccer counterparts and went to Yuma, AZ and returned home with a win. The Roughriders won by scores of 25-17, 25-21, 25-23. The win over Arizona Western moves Yavapai to 3-0 in the ACCAC and 9-4 overall.

Offensively Yavapai was effective hitting .237 with 36 kills. Outside hitter Iva Alebic accumulated 17 kills and added 5 digs. Middle blocker Paige Hamilton hit .364 with 5 kills. Setter Jordan Tilley ran the offense and accumulated 25 assists.

Defensively outside hitter Kelsey Park and libero Brooke Donnelly combined for 21 of Yavapai’s 43 defensive digs. Yavapai also tough all night including 2 service aces.

Yavapai does not return to action until Friday September 18th when they travel to take on eastern Arizona College.
