Volleyball Wins 3-2 After Monumental Comeback

On the second day of the CSN Coyote Classic Yavapai Volleyball found themselves in a hole 0-2 after dropping the first 2 sets to Utah State University – Eastern by scores of 14-25 and 18-25. Fortunately the Roughriders kept imroving throughout the match and came away with a 5 set victory by sweeping the remaining 3 sets by scores of 25-21, 25-21, 15-11. The win improved the Roughrider’s over all record to 4-3.

Bio IvaIn the 5 set match Yavapai banged out 53 kills with outside hitter Iva Alebic leading the way with 21. Second for Yavapai was outside hitter Kelsey Park with 13 kills. Freshman right side hitter Kassidy Pomeroy was close behind with 8 kills. Sophomore setter Kayle Park went the distance and collected 40 assists.

Defensively libero Brooke Donnelly swept up 17 digs and Kelsey Park was second with 13 digs. Sophomore middle blocker, Paige Hamilton slowed down Utah State’s attack with 3.5 blocks.
