Roughrider Soccer Sophomores Moving On

Yavapai College Soccer Team members moving on to four-year universities include goalkeepers Daniel Diaz (University of West Virginia, NCAA Div. One) and Bradley Trella (Dixie State University, NCAA Div. II); defenders Jacob Nelson (College of Charleston, NCAA Div. One) and Brandon Wallace (Arizona State University); midfielders Michael Gallardo (Alderson-Broaddus University, West Virginia, NCAA Div. 11) and Mason Buron (University of Hawaii-Hilo, NCAA Div. II).

The sophomore class was undefeated in 48 out of their 52 career matches at Yavapai College including a third place national finish in 2013. Last season, they led the nation in scoring (103 goals) and defensively in team shutouts (15 clean sheets) while compiling a 20-1-2 overall record.

Yavapai College will begin their 27th soccer season on August 21 with a home match against Laramie County Community College from Wyoming. The Roughriders all-time record is 555-47-26 since the program inception in 1989. Yavapai has captured 72 conference, region, district and national titles, including seven national championships.
