Two Roughriders Named to Prestigious All-American Soccer Team

Two Yavapai College soccer players were named to the prestigious 2014 National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire Junior College Division One Men’s All-America team. Freshmen Niall Logue and Jason Romero becomes the 55th and 56th Yavapai College soccer All-Americans. Logue, who anchored a defense that recorded 15 clean sheets in 23 matches, was named to the first team. Romero, a second team nominee, scored 22 goals with 17 assists on a team that led the country in scoring with 103 goals. The Roughriders finished the 2014 campaign with a 20-1-2 overall record and captured their 24th conference championship. This year’s All-America banquet will take place in Philadelphia on January 17 in conjunction with the 2015 National Soccer Coaches Association of America annual convention.
