All-Conference Accolades for Park and Fenter

On November 1st the All-Conference Teams for the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference were voted on by the head coaches from each of the 11 schools that participate in volleyball. The voting was close and several positions on the teams were separated by only a few points. Two players from Yavapai were named to the ACCAC All-Conference teams and one was named to the NJCAA DI All-Region 1 team. 2014 yc nmm_3760

Roughrider setter Kayle Park (freshman) was named to the ACCAC 2nd Team All- Conference as well as the NJCAA DI All-Region 1 Team. Kayle who is from Red Mountain HS in Mesa, AZ finished 10th in the overall voting and 5th among DI athletes in the ACCAC. For the 2014 season Kayle accumulated 743 assists (7.74 per set), 221 digs (2.30 per set), 85 kills, and 72 total blocks (.75 per set). Kayle played in 27 of the 28 matches for Yavapai in 2014 and 96 of 103 sets. For efforts the week of September 15-21 Kayle was named both NJCAA DI National Player of the Week and ACCAC DI Player of the Week. During that week she led the Roughriders to two key victories over Eastern Arizona College and Embery-Riddle Aeronautical University. In those 2 matches she averaged 11.10 assists per set, 3.40 digs per set, 1 kills per set, 1 block per set, all while hitting .533.

2014 yc nmm_3876Also earning All-Conference honors for the Roughriders was Braxton Fenter (sophomore). As a middle blocker Braxton was named to the Honorable Mention Team. Braxton competed in 27 of the 28 matches for Yavapai in 2014 and 97 of 103 sets. She finished the 2014 season with hitting percentage of .258, 170 kills (1.75 per set), 100 total blocks (1.03 per set), 47 digs, and 30 service aces which was the most of any Roughrider. For her two year Yavapai career she finished with 342 kills (.272), 201 total blocks, 52 service aces, and 127 digs.
