DSC_2149Yavapai uses a balance attack to beat Chandler-Gilbert in 3 straight sets (25-22, 25-18, 27-25). Kayle Park (current NJCAA DI Player of the Week) set the balanced attack and collected 38 assists to go along with 13 digs. Freshman libero Brooke Donnelly had a team high 16 digs and made some spectacular hustle plays to keep balls alive.

Offensively Yavapai was led by outside hitters Amanda Eno with 10 kills (.138) and Kelsey Park with 9 kills (.174). Both sophomore middle blockers Braxton Fenter and Kendy Klump had strong performances. Fenter knocked out 6 kills with a .400 hitting percentage and Klump had 3 kills with a .375 hitting percentage. Freshman middle blocker Shelby Mottram started game 3 in place of Klump and had her strongest outing of the year with 3 blocks and 1 kill. Freshman right side hitter Ashley Preuss played in sets 2 and 3 getting 4 kills and hitting .375. Preuss had 2 key kills late in set 3 that kept Yavapai from having to play a 4th set.

Yavapai hits the road on Friday as they travel to Yuma, AZ to take on the Matadors of Arizona Western College at 7:00 pm.
