Roughriders Continue to Keep Opponents Scoreless

YAVAPAI SOCCER 500 GAMES OVER .500 ALL-TIME

The Roughrider soccer team completed the first half of the ACCAC season with a 2-0 victory over Chandler-Gilbert Community College Tuesday afternoon in Chandler. YC improves their overall record to 11-0-1 and their league leading conference mark to 9-0-1. Chandler-Gilbert falls to 5-4-1.

With the victory on Tuesday, the Yavapai College soccer program all-time record is 546-46-25. That’s exactly 500 games over .500! Head Soccer Coach Mike Pantalione who has been on the touchline for all 617 matches on the milestone—“It’s a tribute to the past and current quality young men that have represented this program and all the hard work and good thinking they did over the past 26 years. It’s a players sport. They are responsible for the program’s success.”

20th minute – Juanjo Carmona-de Ville assisted by Michael Gallardo
83rd minute – Osman O Sillah assisted by Jacob Nelson

It was the 9th shutout of the season with Bradley Trella and Daniel Diaz combining for the blanking.

Yavapai begins the second half of the regular season on Thursday, September 25th at Ken Lindley Field against Gateway Community College. In the first match of the 2014 season, Yavapai crushed the Geckos 10-0. Thursday’s match will begin at 6:00 PM.
