Roughrider Baseball Assistant Coach Accepts Coaching Position With University of Arizona
Roughrider assistant baseball coach Josh Garcia has accepted an assistant coaching position with the University of Arizona. Garcia steps down after 2 seasons with the Roughriders. The Phoenix native returns to the U of A where he played for the Wildcats from 2009-2011. Additionally, he served as an assistant coach for the Wildcats and head coach Andy Lopez. Coach Lopez tweeted today, “Glad to welcome back former player/coach Josh Garcia to our coaching staff once again. Great addition to the program!”
Yavapai College head coach Ryan Cougill commented, “On behalf of our coaching staff and players, I want to congratulate Coach Garcia on his new position at the University of Arizona. He’s been a tremendous asset for this program and he has worked extremely hard to deserve this opportunity. This is a chance for Josh to get back to his Alma Mater and continue a run for another National Championship at the Division 1 level. I thank him for his efforts and know he will continue to do great things.”
