YC Baseball Players Moving On

Coach Ryan Cougill has announced the signings of his sophomore class:

“Coach Garcia, Coach Dawson and I are very happy for this group of sophomores and feel that they’ve committed to schools that will push them to get their degrees as well as continue to develop their athletic abilities.  These are programs that have a proven track record of success on and off the field and have invested quite a bit of scholarship money in our guys.  They will look for them to make an immediate impact.”

Chance Adams, RHP - Dallas Baptist University – 2014 NCAA Regional qualifier, 40-19 record, Missouri Valley Conference Champions

“DBU is expecting Chance to come in and earn quality innings and compete for a weekend spot.  It’s a program that we’re familiar with and we know they’ve taken care of our players in the past.  Chance had a few options but felt very comfortable with DBU and we think it’s a great fit.”

Stephen Carabajal, LHP/OF Cal Baptist University, NCAA Regional qualifier, 39-15 record, #14 National ranking

“Cal Baptist really has a need for a player like Stephen, someone who has the ability to help a team on the mound and at the plate.  He’s expected to come in and compete for an everyday position and eat up a lot of innings”

Nick Sagendorf, RHP Lewis Clark State University (45-8), NAIA World Series Qualifier, #3 National ranking

“LCSU is a proven winner and Nick will help them carry on their success.  Their coaching staff is familiar with him from his HS career in the northwest and recruited him very heavily.”

Will Waterman, RHPRegis University (20-25)

“Will has a chance to do some very good things for Regis…it is a program that has a new coaching staff and they’re looking to some JC transfers to make an immediate impact.  Waterman will also leave Regis with a great business degree”

Logan Pollei, OF/IF – Olivet Nazarene University (35-21)

“Olivet recruited Logan very heavily and are looking for him to make an immediate impact.  It’s another great degree and a place that is used to winning.”

Kamalu Kamoku, RHP - West Texas A&M University (33-17), #2 Regional ranking

“We know the coaching staff well at West Texas and Kamalu is in great hands.   They’re coming off a very successful year but losing a handful of pitchers…(Malu) will be given an opportunity to compete for a lot of innings.”

Justin McAllister, LHP  -  Undecided

Justin is still in the middle of the recruiting process… he has a chance to pitch on weekends for a lot of schools…the hard part in the recruiting process is narrowing down a decision when multiple schools are showing interest.  He is being recruited by a handful of schools including West Texas A&M and Bellevue ”

Austin Orth, C  – Undecided between Mount Olive University and Lubbock Christian University.

“Both schools have a tradition of developing players and winning and the YC baseball program has had players at both Universities.  Again, a tough decision for Austin but one that a lot of players would like to have to make.”
