Doug Eastman Hired as Roughrider Softball Coach

EastmanAthletic Director Brad Clifford has announced the hiring of Doug Eastman to lead the Yavapai College softball program into the future. A press conference will be held to formally introduce Eastman as the new head coach on Friday April 18th at 11:00 am in the lobby of Walraven Gym.

Eastman comes to Yavapai after spending the last 7 years as the head softball coach at College of the Siskiyous in Northern California. From 2006 to 2012 Eastman’s teams posted a record of 301-24, and won 7 consecutive Golden Valley Conference championships. Under Eastman’s tutelage, 10 players earned All-American status and 15 earned All-State recognition.

When asked to comment on the hiring, Yavapai Athletic Director Brad Clifford stated, “We are excited about the hiring of Doug Eastman. Doug brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the softball program. I was really drawn to his passion for the game and his desire to help student-athletes improve and reach their full potential.”

Before entering the coaching ranks, Doug gained invaluable experience as a collegiate player at DI Sacramento State University and then as a professional with the Cincinnati Reds.
