Park-signing

Yavapai Volleyball has signed three 2014 recruits to National Letters of Intent announced head coach Zach Shaver on Friday. “We are very pleased to have added these three talented players to our 2014 roster!” They are twin sisters Kayle and Kelsey Park (setter and outside hitter respectively, and middle blocker Paige Hamilton.

Kayle Park is a 5’9″ setter from Red Mountain High School in Mesa, AZ. She was named to the “All City 2nd Team” in Phoenix for both 2012 and 2013. Kayle has been on the varsity team at Red Mountain since 10th grade and was named captain her senior year.

Kelsey Park is a 5’9″ outside hitter also from Red Mountain High School in Mesa, AZ. Kelsey was also a varsity team captain in 2013. Both sisters also played for Fusion 17’s team during the club season and led their team to a 6th place finish in the Championship Division of the Volleyball Festival.

Paige Hamilton is a 5’10” middle blocker from Sandra Day O’Conner High School in Phoenix, AZ. Paige helped lead her team to the Arizona DI State Semi-Finals and was named to the All Section 2nd Team in Section 1. Paige played club for AZ Desert Sky 17-1 Hurricane team in 2013. In 2011 she helped lead the AZ Region High Performance team to a 3rd place finish at the High Performance Championships.

Paige-Hamilton When asked to comment on these three new Roughriders coach Shaver had the following to say. “We are very happy that Kayle, Kelsey, and Paige have chosen to join the Yavapai Volleyball program! Kayle will bring a significant amount of high level experience as well as size and athleticism in the setting position to our roster next year. She is a strong blocker for a setter and will help our offense become more diverse. We are looking forward to seeing Kelsey compete with our returning outside hitters for court time right away! She has good jumping ability and a very fast armswing which lead to quality attacks. Kelsey will also bring a needed sense of confidence and aggressiveness to her position. Paige is extremely athletic and could play all 3 position at the net. She is very well trained as a middle blocker and has strong fundamentals in blocking and attacking. Paige is a quiet competitor who always helps her teams win.”

Yavapai plans to return six players from the 2013 squad and will look to increase their roster this spring as they prepare for the start of the 2014 season in Roswell, NM.
