Soccer Wins In Overtime…Again

For the fourth time this season, the Roughrider soccer team won in overtime Monday night beating Glendale Community College, 2-1. Yavapai is now 7-0-1 overall and 6-0-1 in ACCAC action. Glendale falls to 3-3-1 on the year and the same record in the conference standings.

After a scoreless first half, YC was the first to find the back of the net in the 79th minute of play. With 13 seconds remaining, Glendale knotted the score on a penalty kick forcing the extra period. Yavapai go the game winner in the 98th minute on a penalty kick by Kayd Marquez.

The Roughriders play host to fellow ACCAC Division I nemesis Arizona Western College on Thursday, September 19th. The match will be played at Ken Lindley Field in Prescott with kick-off slated for 6:00 PM.
