Volleyball Extends The Host Badgers to 4 Sets

In the finale of the Badger Bash volleyball tournament the Roughriders took on the host Snow College who are currently ranked #13 in the NJCAA poll. Yavapai took the first set by the score of 25-17 while hitting efficiently at .240. After the first set Yavapai’s offense did not have an answer for Snow’s big block which led to too many hitting for the Roughriders to be effective. As evident by the 57 total digs the Roughriders kept fighting but lost the final 3 sets by scores of 22-25, 16-25, and 11-25. Casey Johnson led Yavapai’s defense with 16 digs. Rebecca Long accumulated 12 digs and along with her 26 assists completed a double / double for herself. Middle Blocker Natalie Fahey led the team in kills with 8 while hitting .150.
Yavapai returns to ACCAC competition on Wednesday with a trip to Scottsdale CC on Wednesday with match time set for 7:00 pm.
Currently the Roughriders are the only undefeated team in ACCAC play at 3-0 and overall their record is 14-4.
