Former Roughrider Aids In Victory
Former Roughrider soccer player Justin Meram accounted for both goals Thursday night in the Columbus Crew 2-0 win against the Houston Dynamo in Major League Soccer action. Meram assisted in the 47th minute and scored in the 74th minute to lead the crew to the victory.
Meram played on the 2007 and 2008 YC National Championship teams scoring 51 goals in his two-year career and is the all-time points leader with 132. Following Yavapai College, Meram moved on to the University of Michigan leading them to the Final Four his senior year. After his final collegiate year, Meram was drafted by the Crew, his only team of his professional career.
