Former Roughrider Coaching In DI Soccer Ranks

Former Roughrider attacker, David Oberholtzer, was named assistant coach for the NCAA Division One program at the University of Dayton. The Flyers are members of the Atlantic 10 Conference.

Oberholtzer was a starter as a freshmen for the 2003 Yavapai College National Championship team. He completed his two-year career for the Roughriders with 14 goals and 16 assists from the left midfield position and was named to the All-Region team.

Oberholtzer continue his playing career leading Fort Lewis College to the NCAA Division II National Championship Game. He later was an assistant coach for the Durango, Colorado school guiding the Skyhawks to a pair of national championships.

A graduate of Corona del Sol High School in Tempe, he earned his degree in Exercise Science from Fort Lewis College.
