Former Volleyball Spikers Honored

Former Roughrider volleyball players, Haley Shackelford and Natasha Ray, were named to the the 1st Team All-Conference in their respective conferences.

Shackelford (2009-11) was voted to the All-Gulf South Conference First Team. The Colorado native was named to the second team last season. Shackelford, a senior, had a team-best 3.04 kills per set good for fourth in the GSC while her attack percentage of .287 ranks fifth.

Ray (2010-11) was named to the All-Northeast-10 First Team for her efforts this season becoming the school’s first-ever All-Northeast-10 First Team volleyball selection. Ray was 20th in the Northeast-10 in kills per set (2.52), 15th in digs per set (3.36), third in aces per set (0.47) and 17th in points per set (3.30) and currently ranks 41st in the nation in service aces per set (0.49).
