No Playoffs For VB; Three Spikers Named All-Conference

Despite the doubleheader sweep at Arizona Western College Friday night, the Roughrider volleyball team finds itself on the outside looking in for the NJCAA Region I Playoffs. All four ACCAC Division I teams had conference marks of 10-6. Per conference rules, the tiebreaker for 3 or more teams is to compare the team’s record against each of the tied teams. Yavapai had a combined record of 4-5 against the DI teams; Central Arizona College had a 4-5 record; Eastern Arizona had a 5-4 record; and Arizona Western had a 5-4 record. Therefore, Eastern Arizona will play at Arizona Western on Wednesday, October 31st for the NJCAA Region I Championship and the right to advance to the NJCAA District Playoffs.

In other news from the coach’s meeting on Saturday:

Lauren Bevan was voted to the First Team All-Conference and Division I All-Region Teams.

Jen Sadler was named to the Second Team All-Conference and Division I All-Region Teams,

Libby Ary was named ACCAC Honorable Mention

Yavapai concludes the season with a 28-7 record overall, the most wins in a season since the 1997 year (31) and the 5th best record in the program’s history.
