Spikers Net Second Consecutive Win Over Vaqueros

For the second time in two nights the Roughrider volleyball team beat the visiting Vaqueros from Central Arizona College Wednesday night. YC won the match 3-1 (25-18, 25-20, 23-25, 27-25). Yavapai is now 20-5 overall and 6-4 in the ACCAC. Central falls to 12-6 on the season and 6-3 in the conference standings.

Freshman Jennifer Sadler had a season high 17 kills and added 2.5 blocks. Lauren Bevan had 16 kills, 9 digs and 2 aces. MacKenzie Hamilton contributed 12 kills and 13 digs. The playmaker, Libby Ary, had 52 assists and 10 digs.

YC faces NJCAA Division One #9 ranked Arizona Western College on Friday, October 5th at Walraven Gym in Prescott. Western fell to the Gila Monsters from Eastern Arizona College Wednesday night, 2-3 (25-21, 19-25, 23-25, 25-17, 8-15). In August, YC lost to the Matadors in Yuma, 0-3. Friday night’s match will begin at 7:00 PM.
