Spikers Pound T-Birds

The Roughrider volleyball team beat the visiting Thunderbirds from Mesa Community College Wednesday night, 3-0 (25-20, 25-10, 25-15) to improve to 16-3 on the season and 3-2 in the ACCAC. Mesa falls to 1-10 overall and 1-5 in conference action.

Lauren Bevan led the Riders with 9 kills. Jen Sadler, Hannah Hill and Natalie Fahey each had 7 kills. Libby Ary, the playmaker, had 32 assists and a team high 4 aces. Hill added 11 digs to lead the team and 3 aces. Fahey also had 3 aces. JordanLopez chipped in 10 digs.

Yavapai plays a pivotal ACCAC Division I match on Friday, September 21st at Eastern Arizona College. Earlier in the season, the Gila Monsters beat YC in Prescott, 3-1 (17-25, 25-19, 14-25, 12-25). Game time will be at 7:00 PM. The Roughriders return to Walraven Gym on Friday, September 28th to host league leader Glendale Community College.
