The Roughrider softball team split a non-conference doubleheader Wednesday afternoon at Bill Vallely Field with the visiting Wranglers from Odessa College, TX. YC came from behind in the opener to win 8-7 and Odessa (23-12, 4-0) returned the favor in the second game winning 4-2. Yavapai is now 34-5 overall and 22-2 in ACCAC play.

The YC offense was stymied in the second game with only five hits and two runs. The game winner, a three-run home run by Desiree Ayarzgoitia. Macias threw six innings striking out eight batters.

Brittany McCray was 2 for 3 on the game and Heimburg was 1 for 3 with a run knocked in.
