YC Duo Sign NLI’s

Sophomore Roughrider baseball player Jonathan Rodriguez has signed an NCAA Letter of Intent to play for Oral Roberts University for the 2012-13 school year. The Golden Eagles finished the 2011 season with a 39-22 overall record and one win shy of competing in the NCAA Super Regionals losing to Dallas Baptist University in the Forth Worth Regional Tournament.

For YC last season, Rodriguez hit .283 with 4 home runs and 25 runs batted in. The California native led the team with 21 doubles and 3 triples.

Josh Anderson inked a Letter of Intent with Florida International University of the Sun Belt Conference. Anderson will suit up for Head Coach Turtle Thomas and the Panthers for the 2013 baseball season. FIU finished 40-20-1 last year and lost in the NCAA Regionals.

The infielder from Poway, CA hit .364 last season for the Rider nine and was named the #1 prospect by top baseball magazine Baseball America after his summer season in the Perfect Game Collegiate Summer Baseball League.

The Yavapai pair along with the other Roughrider hitters take to the field for their 2012 season on January 27, 2012 against College of Southern Idaho in Las Vegas. Their first home game will be February 18th against Glendale Community College.
