Yates In AZ Fall League

Former Roughrider baseball player Kirby Yates (2007-2009) has been invited to participate in the highly acclaimed Arizona Fall League. The right-handed pitcher is playing for the Surprise Saguaros a team comprised of prospects from the Texas Rangers, Kansas City Royals, Atlanta Braves, Florida Marlins and Tampa Bay Rays, the organization that Yates is affiliated with.

Yavapai Head Coach Sky Smeltzer commented, “The Arizona Fall League is a league for organization’s top prospects, and players are placed in the league for true evaluations of their major league ability. These players are generally in the majors within two years of participating.”

Yates’ team is currently in first place in the West Division of the League with the schedule running through mid-November.
