After an early opponent score, the Roughrider soccer team scored five unanswered goals en route to a 5-1 victory over Paradise Valley Community College (4-7-0) Tuesday afternoon in 100+ degree weather. Yavapai maintains a firm grasp on first place with a 9-0-2 record and is currently ranked #5 in the NJCAA Division One Poll with a 10-0-2 overall mark. The match was the first game of the second half of league play. In the first game of the regular, home and conference season back in August, YC beat the Pumas 2-1.
