Parks Assumes Softball Duties
After 4 seasons as an assistant coach, Lisa Parks takes over the softball head coaching duties with the recent departure of former head coach Stacy Iveson. Parks has been with the YC softball program since its inception in 2008.
In the four years that the Tucson native has been with at YC, she has helped the team win 4 consecutive NJCAA Region I Division I championships which earned them four trips to the College World Series, including National Championships in 2009 and 2011. Additionally, Lisa was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association Coaching Staff of the Year for her efforts in the 2009 and 2011 seasons.
As a player, Parks had a very successful career at the junior college and NCAA Division I levels. She helped her team at Pima Community College to its first ever NJCAA Division I National Championship in 2004. She was a two time NJCAA All American infielder with 52 homeruns and 183 RBIs in her two years at Pima.
After transferring to the University of Minnesota, Lisa completed her degree in Sport Management in 2007. During her tenure at Minnesota she became 7th on the all time career homerun list in just two years of competition for the Gophers.
