Accolades Continue For Softball

The post-season awards keep rolling in for the National Champion Roughrider softball team with three players being named NJCAA All-Americans.

For their efforts, Sierra Rodriguez and Amelia Willadsen were voted to the 1st Team and Estela Pinon was named to the 2nd Team.

Rodriguez was 8th in the country in batting average (.524), 6th in on base percentage (.596), 10th in doubles (24), 8th in triples (6), 3rd in hits (110) and 11th in runs batted in (82). The freshman second baseman has already been named to the 1st Team All-ACCAC and 1st Team All-NFCA West Region teams and at the National Tournament, was voted to the All-Tournament Team.

With 220 innings (6th) pitched , Willadsen led the country with 34 wins (34-1) and was 8th nationally in ERA (0.99). The Red Mountain High School product was voted to the 1st Team All-ACCAC and 1st Team All-NFCA West Region Team.

Pinon continues to add to her post-season awards of 1st Team All-ACCAC and 1st Team All-NFCA West Region Team and the National Tournament Most Outstanding Pitcher and Most Valuable Player. The freshman pitcher/designated hitter was 9th in the country in strikeouts (212) and 4th in wins (30-3). From the plate, Pinon was 9th in home runs (20) and 5th in RBI’s (95).
