The Roughrider baseball team was swept by #15 South Mountain Community College Tuesday afternoon at Roughrider Park, 1-0 and 6-5. YC falls to 28-18 overall and 16-12 in ACCAC play.

In the opener, starting pitcher Andrew Walter (4-5) was the hard-luck loser allowing only one run on six hits. Offensively, YC could only muster four hits led by Nolan Clark with two.

In the late game, South Mountain scored the winning run in their half of the ninth inning to secure the sweep. Robbie Ingram (1-2) took the loss. Josh Anderson was 3 for 4 from the plate. Ethan Leiter and Albert Alvarez added two hits apiece.

Yavapai returns to the home diamond on Saturday, April 16th against Division II #6 ranked GateWay Community College. The doubleheader will start at 12:00 PM.
