The #2 ranked Roughrider softball team swept a crucial doubleheader Tuesday afternoon against Central Arizona College, 7-4 and 9-3. Yavapai got key contributions from the bench players in the victories. Ashleigh Seipl hit a double in the first game to plate the tying run and Carli Schiller hit a double to score the game winner.
Amelia Willadsen got the victory in the opener striking out five hitters and allowing only two hits. Danielle Muniz, Alex Landon and Willadsen were each 2 for 4 with Landon knocking a home run.
Estela Pinon hit a home run and pitched the Riders to victory in the nightcap. Landon remained hot with 2 hits including a double. Kirsten Lambertson hit a home run plating three runs. The reigning ACCAC Batter of the Week Vanessa House hit a home run and had two runs batted in.
Yavapai plays Glendale Community College on Saturday, February 26th at Glendale. The first pitch will be at 12:00 PM.
