Softball Splits On Final Day Of Tourney
The #2 ranked Roughrider softball team split their final two games of the Cathedral City Kick-off Saturday afternoon beating Palomar College, CA 10-1 and falling to Santa Ana College, CA 3-2. Yavapai is now 17-2 overall.
In the opener, Amelia Willadsen got the victory with 2 strikeouts and 3 hits. Danielle Muniz knocked a home run with 3 RBI’s. Vanessa House was 1 for 1 with two runs knocked and Ashleigh Seipl was 1 for 1 with a double.
Santa Ana College scored three runs in the first inning and the Roughrider offense sputtered in the final game. Estela Pinon took the loss from the circle. Sierra Rodriguez was 2 for 4 with a run scored. House was 2 for 2 with a double and a run scored. Muniz was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 runs batted in.
Yavapai returns to conference action on Tuesday, February 22nd at Central Arizona College. The first pitch will be thrown at 2:00 PM.
