Lady Cagers Hunt Coyotes

The Lady Rider basketball team bounced back from a disappointing loss on Wednesday to crush the visiting Coyotes from Chandler/Gilbert Community College Saturday afternoon, 94-53. The 94 points is the largest offensive output of the year for the hoopsters. YC improves to 16-6 overall and 8-6 in ACCAC action.

Yavapai was led in scoring and rebounding by Kayla Williams with 18 points and 9 caroms. The Seattle native also blocked 6 opponent shots. Bernadette Sanchez added 16 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. As a team, YC shot 56% from the field on 26 assists and outrebounded the opponent 56-42.

Yavapai returns to the court on Wednesday, February 2nd hosting South Mountain Community College (8-13, 5-8). In their prior meeting, the Roughriders the Cougars, 75-67. Tip-off will be at 5:30 PM.
