Lady Riders Fall To Central

The Lady Rider basketball team shot a dismal 39% from the field Saturday night in an 80-62 loss to #10 ranked Central Arizona College in the Storm Center. Yavapai falls to 13-5 overall and 5-5 in conference play. The Vaqueros improve 15-3 overall and a league leading 10-0 mark.

YC was outrebounded on the night 52-32 giving up 21 offensive rebounds. The lady hoopsters were led by Kayla Williams who posted her second straight 22 point night. Bernadette Sanchez added 15 points, 3 steals and a team high 8 rebounds. Antoinette Miller had 6 assists.

Yavapai plays a pivotal game against Eastern Arizona College on Wednesday, Janaury 19th in Thatcher. EAC holds a one game advantage over the Riders in the battle for the third and final playoff spot. The game will tip-off at 5:30 PM.
