Snow Falls On Roughriders

The Roughrider basketball team could not overcome a 19-point halftime deficit en route to their second straight loss Saturday evening at Snow College, 90-86. YC falls to 0-2 on the young season and the Badgers improve to 2-0.

YC shot a dismal 23% in the first half en route to a 60-41 halftime deficit. Yavapai improved their shooting in the second half outscoring the host team 45-30. The Riders closed the gap to 2 with fifty seconds remaining in regulation but fell short in the waning moments of the game.

Dominique Brooks led the team with 19 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists. Dionte Goodlett had 17 points. Jon Hawkins added 13 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. JuWan Buchanon and Dominique Carr each chipped in 11.

Yavapai returns to the hardwood on Friday, November 12th entertaining Arizona College Prep. The game will tip-off at 7:00 PM. The following night, YC hosts the Arizona Legends beginning at 7:00 PM.
