In a rare Monday matinee, the Roughrider soccer team got goals from four different players to beat #13 Pima Community College, 4-2 at Ken Lindley Field in Prescott. Yavapai improves their overall record to 14-4-0 to catapult them into second place in the ACCAC standings. Pima falls to 13-5-0.
Yavapai began the scoring in the 7th minute of the contest when Steven Bagheri received a pass from Jacob Nevarez and deposited it in the net. Five minutes later, Nevarez got the goal on an assist from Ethan Martin. In the 24th minute Adam Crossingham found the goal assisted by Tanner Ayau and Pima finished off the first half with a score in the 33rd minute.
Following intermission, Martin capped the Roughrider scoring off with a goal on a pass from Viktor Rodakovic and the visitors finished the scoring in the 73rd minute. Yavapai is now 47-4-4 all-time against the Aztecs, the most times YC has faced any opponent in Roughrider history.
