The #9 ranked Roughrider baseball team split a road doubleheader Saturday afternoon against Central Arizona College. YC lost the first game 3-0 and won the nightcap 5-4. Yavapai is now 18-8 overall and 12-2 in conference play.

Tyler Bremer (3-3) took the hard-luck loss as he pitched 5 and 1/3 innings. The California native struck out nine batters and scattered six hits. DeMarcus Tidwell was 2 for 3 and Cam Brown was 1 for 2 to lead the stagnant offense. The Roughriders stranded 9 base runners and were held scoreless for only the second time this season.

Casey Upperman (3-1) won his third game of the season and Pulama Silva closed the game for his NJCAA leading 10th save of the season. Cam Schiller was 3 for 5 and Devon Zenn was 2 for 4 with a home run.

Yavapai takes a break from ACCAC action with a non-conference doubleheader on Monday, March 15th against Garden City Community College, KS. The games will be played at Roughrider Park in Prescott beginning at 12:00 PM.
