Softball Mauled By The Bears

The Roughrider softball team dropped a doubleheader Saturday to #2 ranked Phoenix College 6-2 and 7-6. YC falls to 4-4 on the young season and PC improves to 3-0.

The offense was stagnant in the first game scoring only two runs. Ashley Snedeker was 1 for 4 with a double and Vanessa House was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI’s. Christina Hagberg took the loss in six innings pitched, allowing 5 earned runs on 8 hits and striking out 3.

The Riders picked up the offense in the nightcap. Brittany Keiser was 3 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored. Chelsea Pineda was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored. Sam Roskopf hit a home run plating 3 and House and Stephanie Harris each had a hit.

Audrey Workman was the pitcher of record pitching 6 innings and giving up 7 earned runs on 7 hits and 3 base on balls.

Yavapai returns to the diamond on Tuesday, February 9th at Mesa Community College. The first pitch will be at 2:00 PM.
