Roughriders Swept

The Roughrider baseball team dropped a twinbill Friday afternoon in Las Vegas against #1 ranked Community College of Southern Nevada, 6-3 and 5-0. YC falls to 1-6 on the young season and Southern Nevada improves to 5-0.
In the opener, Alex Miranda took the loss. The lefthander gave up 4 earned runs on 8 hits, 2 walks and a strikeout. Pulama Silva pitched the final one and two-thirds innings recording 4 strikeouts. Offensively, DeMarcus Tidwell was 2 for 4 with a run scored and a run batted in. The Roughriders stranded 10 base runners.
In the nightcap, Tyler Bremer pitched 6 innings in the loss giving up 4 runs on 5 hits. The California native recorded 7 strikeouts. The Roughrider offense managed only 4 hits in the game with Cam Schiller getting two base knocks and James Dykstra and John Jones each got a hit. For the game, YC left 12 runners on the basepaths.
YC makes their home debut on Thursday, February 11th against College of Eastern Utah. The first pitch will be at 2:00 PM.
