Baseball Beat By Number One

The Roughrider baseball team dropped their third straight game to the #1 ranked team in the NJCAA, Community College of Southern Nevada (3-0) Thursday afternoon in Las Vegas, 6-3. YC falls to 1-4 overall.

Dustin Hobbs took the loss to fall to 1-1 on the season. The Las Vegas native went 4.6 innings allowing six runs on five hits. Tony Vocca went 2.6 innings on the hill and Pulama Silva pitch 2/3 innings striking out two. Southern Nevada put 5 runs on the board in a third inning nightmare in which YC committed three errors.

Offensively, Vocca was 2 for 3 from the dish with 2 runs scored and Cam Brown was 2 for 4 with an RBI.

Yavapai continues the three game series with the Coyotes Friday afternoon in Las Vegas. Alex Miranda will get the ball in the opener and Tyler Bremer will pitch the nightcap. Game time will be at 1:00 PM.
