T-Birds Edge Riders

The Lady Rider basketball team fell in the Storm Center Tuesday night to the visiting Thunderbirds from Mesa Community College, 68-67. Christina Buescher from Mesa hit a free throw with 0.9 seconds remaining in the game to secure the victory. Yavapai falls to 17-11 overall and 15-7 in the ACCAC.

Dee Adsitt led the Roughriders with 19 points. Kira DeMorales had 16. Julianne Forte` added 15 and Lerrin Cook chipped in 12.

Yavapai concludes the regular season on Friday playing host to #8 ranked Central Arizona College. Tip-off will be at 5:30 PM. The lady hoopsters begin NJCAA Region I Tournament play on Wednesday, March 3rd at home against Arizona Western College. Game time will be at 7:30 PM.
