Softball Splits With Thunderbirds
The Roughrider softball team split a doubleheader in Mesa Tuesday afternoon with Mesa Community College. YC dropped the opener 5-4 and bounced back in the nightcap 7-6 in 8 innings. Yavapai is now 5-5 on the season.
Audrey Workman took the loss going the full six innings. The Wickenburg native allowed three earned runs on eight hits, five walks and three strikeouts.
From the dish, Ashley Snedeker, Emily Cooper and Kylie Morin were all 2 for 4. Vanessa House hit a home run and Danielle Muniz was 1 for 3 with a double and three runs batted in.
In game two, Alex Landon pitched a complete game allowing five earned runs on thirteen hits. Brittany Keiser was a perfect 4 for 4 from the plate and Molly Brossart and House each had 2 hits.
Yavapai returns to the diamond on Saturday, February 13th as they host Chandler/Gilbert Community College. The first pitch will be thrown at 12:00 PM.
