Workman, Pineda Sign NLI

YC softball players Audrey Workman and Chelsea Pineda have signed NCAA National Letters of Intent for the 2010-11 seasons. Workman inked with Ball State University and Pineda with Coastal Carolina University. Both players were instrumental in the 2009 NJCAA Championship season.

Workman, a left-handed pitcher, was 30-3 last season with 226 strikeout and a 1.45 ERA. The Wickenburg native was named First Team All-ACCAC, Region I and First Team NJCAA All-American.

Pineda had a solid freshman season hitting .299 with 12 home runs and 38 runs batted in.

YC opens up the 2010 season on January 29th at the Mizuno Kick-off Classic in Las Vegas, NV.
