4 Riders Named All-Region;Tourney Match-ups

Four Yavapai College soccer players were named to the NJCAA All-Region I Teams for their efforts this past season. Named to the First Team was sophomore defender Gene Tibbets, sophomore midfielder Gabriel Okito and sophomore forward David Malloy. Sophomore midfielder Greg Gilmer was named to the 2nd Team All-Region I.

These four players along with the rest of the Roughriders begin Region I play-off action on Thursday, October 29th at Ken Lindley Field in Prescott. Yavapai won their 21st consecutive ACCAC title this past season and the #1 seed going in the region tournament. They will entertain the winner of the Pima Community College/Chandler-Gilbert Community College match being played on Tuesday afternoon in Tucson. During the regular season, Yavapai was 1-1 against Chandler-Gilbert and 2-0 against Pima. If YC wins their match on Thursday, they will host the championship game on Saturday evening at Ken Lindley Field.
