Big Day For V-Ball, Soccer

Wednesday, October 21st is a day with playoff implications for both the Roughrider volleyball team and the nationally ranked Roughrider soccer team.

With three matches remaining, the volleyball team is almost at “win or go home” stage. YC sets a half a game behind second place Arizona Western College in the ACCAC standings and the hunt for the second and final Division I playoff spot. Arizona Western College has two matches remaining on the season. Wednesday, the lady spikers will entertain Division II #8 ranked Glendale Community College. The Roughriders have not beaten the Lady Gauchos since 2006. The match will begin at 7:00 PM at the Storm Center on the campus of Yavapai College in Prescott.

The #5 ranked Roughrider soccer team (15-3-0) is searching for their 21st ACCAC title and currently set in 1st place in the standings 2 points ahead of Wednesday’s opponent #8 Pima Community College (14-3-1). A victory for the Roughriders would go a long way for each team in clinching the title and the home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Including Wednesday’s match, YC has only two contests remaining in the regular season. The match will be played at Ken Lindley Field in Prescott kicking off at 6:00 PM.
