Soccer Posts 10 On South Mountain

The #6 ranked Roughrider soccer team scored nine first half goals en route to a 10-1 victory Monday afternoon at South Mountain Community College. YC improves their record to 13-3-0. South Mountain falls to 1-15-0.

The scoring began early and happened often for the Riders as Vince Martin scored two goals in the first 13 minutes. David Malloy had one goal and three assists on the afternoon and Gavin LaFollette and Jonathan Castro added two goals each. Kyle Woodson had three assists in the onslaught.

Yavapai returns to the field on Wednesday night against Gateway Community College (3-13-0). In their first meeting of the season, YC blanked the Geckos 4-0 at Ken Lindley Field in Prescott. Wednesday night’s match will be played at the site of the 2008 NJCAA Division I Soccer National Championship, Rose Mofford Park in Phoenix. Game time will be 7:00 PM.
