The ‘Riders found playing at home the cure for their recent struggles. A 3-set sweep over Pima Community College, 25-18, 25-10, 25-17, could set the tone for the upcoming week which features 6 more matches. Freshman opposite hitter Courtney Mrowczynski led YC with 13.5 points on 7 kills, 5 aces, and 1.5 blocks while hitting .500. As a team, the Roughriders hit a season high .402 with only 3 hitting errors in 82 attempts. Freshman outside hitter Haley Shackelford let the team with 11 kills while sophomore outside hitter Jordan Anderson contributed 8.
The ‘Riders return to the court Wednesday night at Mesa Community College. They are now 10-8 on the season, 2-2 in ACCAC play.
