Former YC Baseball Player Selected to All-Star Team

Former Roughrider and current Orem Owlz baseball player Dillon Baird was selected to the Pioneer League 2009 all-star team. Baird was named as the first baseman of the rookie league all-stars.

The Prescott native is in the top five in the league in many categories including batting average (.369), hits (76), on-base percentage (.438) and slugging percentage (.553). Baird was an 11th round selection by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the 2009 draft from the University of Arizona. He played at Yavapai in the 2007 season before transferring to the U of A.
